Almost all the answers you seek are within you.
Last week, my friend told me he went on a 12 hour walk.
Apparently it’s a movement (and a book).
Phone on airplane mode.
No podcasts.
No music.
Just you.
Alone.
With your thoughts.
“How hard could it be?” - I thought.
“It’s just walking”.
On Saturday, I decided that I was going to walk for 12 hour on Sunday.
Yesterday, I landed at the airport in Toronto at 8:15am and by 10am was out the door to start this walk.
My intention was simple - find answers to the question:
“Who am I? Why am I here?”
The walk was anything but simple.
By hour 2, I had realizations about my childhood.
By hour 4, I had trekked across the city, pretty sweaty.
By hour 6, I had journaled 2 pages of thoughts.
By hour 8, I thought “no way am I gonna make it”.
By hour 10, it was dark, the sweat had been completely absorbed into my clothing.
By hour 11, I was almost home.
And the last hour, I was moving slightly faster than a snail.
I’ll share a deeper debrief tomorrow.
But holy crap.
This was one of the most mentally challenging things I have done in a long time.
I’m sore AF today.
Still trying to process everything that happened on the walk.

If you’ve been looking for answers “outside” of you, your best bet is to look“inside” of you.
Context:
On Sunday Aug 25, 2024, I went on a 12-hour walk.
Phone on airplane mode.
No music/podcasts/texting.
Alone with my thoughts.
And a journal.
The goal?
Ask god / the universe: “why am I here?”
There were many discoveries that I made that will fundamentally change my future.
Here are 12 of them.
Hope it helps you on your path forward.
