Here are 7 things I’m doing to generate clients every single week

Typically, I generate 1-2 new clients every month, when I’m not running paid ads.

Lately, it’s been 1-2 new clients per week.

You know when the universe starts acting in your favor?
Here are 7 things I’m doing to generate clients every single week.
Typically, I generate 1-2 new clients every month, when I’m not running paid ads.
Lately, it’s been 1-2 new clients per week.
I’m not 100% sure why this might be, but here’s what I’ve been doing:
(1) Daily Internal Practice
I wake up, journal, meditate, visualize, and all the things you’re “supposed” to do.
I was never able to follow a script, so I created my own morning routine that I felt good about.
Wake up at 5am, drink tea, journal using Notion with a series of pre-built prompts designed to get me connected to my future self.
This includes writing a daily letter to my future self, usually only a few paragraphs long.
10-30 min meditation, then go straight to the gym to sweat.
I’ve noticed if my mornings are dialled in, the rest of the day generally feels much more positive.
(2) Setting Client Boundaries
When you first start out, you’ll work with just about anybody to get paid and have financial validation.
It’s fun, but it gets draining when you realize you’re not working with your ideal client.
This leads to short-term relationships that die within months.
Instead, I’m focused on serving a specific type of person, who’s already looking to grow their consulting business and they want to use retreats in their business model.
If they check those two boxes, they are already within my niche.
If they don’t check those two boxes, it makes disqualifying super easy.
Which leads to…
(3) Inviting a Yes or No Decision
I love when someone says “yes, I’m in”.
I love when someone says, “no, it’s not for me”.
But I don’t love when someone says “maybe”.
Most people live in a world of indecision.
Delaying their desires and their wants to some future unknown time that rhymes with “tomorrow”.
We all think tomorrow will be different.
But it will be the exact same. Literally.
If nothing changes, nothing changes.
I invite people to make a decision, and empower them to make a choice.
This leads to a stronger bond and stronger commitment on both sides.
(4) Inviting Existing Clients to a Higher Tier of Service
In my business, one of my key focus areas is growing Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR).
I believe for most consultants, creating an MRR program is the highest leverage activity.
But here’s the thing about clients in a group coaching program: naturally, some of them will want “more” from you.
They may want one on one time.
Or they may want a private strategy day.
They may want private events/retreats.
I’ve had clients fly to me in Toronto, and I’ve had clients fly me to their city.
Some clients have video text access to me on a daily basis.
Every month, I look at my clients and see if someone is looking for more. And I make an invitation to the next thing I have to offer.
(5) Surrounding Myself With High-Calibre Relationships
My friend Avi challenged me to wake up early and get in flow. He then introduced me to a superstar Kirk who’s doing big things in the dental industry.
My trainers Sam and Greg push me to do better in the gym and be mindful of my nutrition.
My friend Kevin always sends encouraging messages, celebrating my small and big wins in my business.
My friend Jack inspired me to be a better husband for Brandi, by listening more to her needs and showing up the way she needed the most.
My friends Bill and Brandy held an event in Savannah last week, where I met Cole, who signed up for my Bali retreat.
Good people attract good people.
When you’re among a pool of people who want to see you win, you can’t help but want to show up as a better person.
This is an underrated growth hack.
(6) Living as my Future-Self
Without getting to “woo woo” and losing you, I’ve been making decisions that future Karan would be proud of.
Not just proud of..but making decisions that are “normal” in my new life.
Upgrading where we live in Toronto, knowing that our environment is so important, was a natural decision that future Karan normalizes.
Hiring a full time team member, a decision that future Karan celebrates because the ROI is abundantly clear.
Booking family vacations with my parents who have done so much for us, naturally this feels good.
(7) Expecting Good Things to Happen
January wasn’t off to a hot start.
I couldn’t catch my groove.
I was trying to “out-tactic” how I felt emotionally and it didn’t work.
No amount of strategies, books and coaches can help you fix the sh*t you’ve been avoiding.
When you have your biggest financial year, you put pressure on yourself to keep trending upwards.
I felt that pressure, leading me to question everything.
For the last 4 weeks, I’ve been expecting good things to happen throughout the day.
And even among the dark moments, there’s light everyday.
A new client reaches out.
I get asked to speak at an event.
My wife Brandi celebrates a win in her business.
I’m expecting good things to happen, and I’m expecting this to be my new norm.
Anyways…
I’m feeling incredibly inspired right now and hope you can take something from this and put it into action.
